Where Hanuman stands — not as a deity kept behind glass, but as a living presence felt in the stone, the camphor smoke, and the bare feet on cold granite floors.

Tucked at the edge of Sindhurajapuram village in the Chittoor plains, this temple has been the unbroken heart of the community for over a hundred and twenty years. It was not built as a grand project. It grew — one votive offering, one monsoon repair, one generation of devotion at a time.

Sri Abhaya Anjaneya Swamy — Hanuman in the posture of protection, right hand raised in the abhaya mudra — is the presiding deity. The idol, carved from a single granite block, draws pilgrims from across Chittoor District on Saturdays and during Hanuman Jayanti.

Devotee Voices

"Every Saturday morning for twelve years, my father made the drive from Tirupati just for the Abhishekam here. After he passed, I continued it in his name. The priests remember. That matters more than I can say."

Srinivasa Reddy Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh

"I booked the Hanuman Jayanti archana online from Hyderabad. The SMS confirmation came with the exact time and the priest's name. Prasadam was sent home. Small things, but they showed this temple is serious about its devotees."

Padmavathi Rao Hyderabad, Telangana

"The silence here on weekday mornings is different from other temples. When the priest lights the camphor during Mangala Aarti, there is nothing else in the world. My children came back last year and understood what I have been trying to explain their whole lives."

Subbaiah Chetty Sindhurajapuram, Chittoor
